About the Owner
One Man. 40 Fish Tanks.
Brian Dahlberg has been keeping tropical and freshwater fish since 1989, when he started college. Several people in his dorm had fish tanks in their rooms, and he was immediately interested. His first fish tank was three gallons. It was quickly followed by a 10-gallon tank, then a 30-gallon tank. It wasn’t long before Brian became known as “the guy with fish in his room,” no matter where he lived in college. It was the beginning of a nearly 20-year devotion to keeping fish.
When he and his wife bought their first house in 2009, the hobby really expanded. Bigger tanks. More fish. Brian quickly realized he had MTS (multiple-tank syndrome)! Almost 10 years and 40 tanks later, Brian keeps a full working fish room in his basement, as well as several display tanks throughout his home. Brian keeps several types of cichlids, tropical fish, dwarf shrimp and plants, as well as marine fish and coral.
